Jaswant Kaur has been practicing different forms of yoga for ten years. She came to Kundalini yoga five years ago when a friend invited her to a class. The first time Jaswant sat in the class and tuned into the Kundalini energy, she knew she had discovered something truly powerful. From that point on, she continued to attend the class and became even more intrigued by how good she felt after class. She also enjoyed the fact that each class ended with chanting and meditation. Jaswant continued to seek out Kundalini classes around town and became involved with Sadhana, a morning meditation and yoga practice, introduced to her by her first teacher. From that point on, Jaswant desired to have a space where she and other individuals could come to chant and practice yoga together in the early morning hours. One day, Jaswant went to a local class and asked the teacher after class where she could find a local Sadhana practice to participate in. The teacher answered her by encouraging her to take teacher training. From that time, Jaswant enrolled in the teacher training course and she continued to deepen her practice of this profound form of yoga. You may reach her 503.232.7527, or jaswantkundalini@yahoo.com.

Nicole Swanson began her journey on the yogic path ten years ago when she found her teacher, Diane Wilson, in answer to a prayer. She had been trying to learn the art of meditation through books and experimentation but knew instinctively that meditation consists of more than sitting still while a running dialog plays in the mind. Nicole found herself immersed in a strong hatha/pranayama practice and grew to understand that strengthening the body and mind through postures and breath work are necessary steps in obtaining the calm and quiet needed for deeper states of meditation. Nicole is trained as both a hatha yoga and kriya meditation teacher and has been teaching in Portland for the last eight years. She finds the sense of community she shares with students a necessary component to her own growth and increased sense of joy while motherhood helps to bring the lessons of yoga into the details of everyday life. Alexander Rosan is a great example of the benefits of yoga. Being type 1 diabetic, yoga has helped balance blood sugar, increase circulation, and aid in digestion He has practiced many yogic techniques, and prefers the benefits of Yin style yoga. Coming from classical music training in opera singing, he also puts a lot of focus on the importance of pranayama and being in touch with the body, especially proper alignment. Beyond the practice of Hatha yoga, Alexander also puts emphasis on the importance of meditation, both in silence and with creating sound.
